Phase-cut dimmable,we also call it Leading edge/triac dimming is the use of thyristor circuit, starting from the AC phase 0, the input voltage chopper, until the thyristor on, there is no voltage input. Its principle is to change the sinusoidal waveform by adjusting the conduction angle of each half wave of AC, so as to change the effective value of AC current,and achieve the purpose of dimming. Leading edge dimmer has the advantages of high precision, high efficiency, small size, light weight, easy long-distance operation, etc. It dominates the market. Most manufacturers produce this type of dimmer. Leading-edge phase-controlled dimmers generally use thyristor as switching devices, so they are also called triac dimmable.

WHAT IS AN LED DRIVER? LED Driver is refered to the power adjusting electronic device that drives the LED light-emitting or the normal operation of the LED module components. Because of the conduction characteristics of the LED PN junction, the voltage and current dynamic range of the power supply can adapt to is very narrow, slightly deviating from it may not be able to light the LED or seriously reduce the luminous efficiency, or shorten the service life or even burn the chip. Current industrial frequency power supply and common battery power supply are not suitable for direct supply of LED. LED driver is the electronic component that can drive the LED to work in the optimal voltage or current state.

What is led driver? A LED driver is an electrical device that regulates the power to an LED or string(s) of LEDs. What makes a driver different from conventional power supplies, is that an LED driver responds to the ever-changing needs of the LED, or circuit of LEDs, by supplying a constant amount of power to the LED, as its electrical properties change with temperature. Think of an LED driver as `Cruise Control` (like in a car) for the LED, and the temperature changes of the LED are the hills and valleys it is `driving` over. The power level (or `Speed`) of the LED is maintained constant by the driver as the electrical properties change (amount of `gas` or power needed) throughout the temperature increases and decreases (or `hills and valleys`) seen by the LED(s). Without the proper driver, the LED may become too hot (driving too fast) and become unstable (out of control), causing poor performance (engine problems) or complete failure (crash!)
